Dress Confidently

Defying Fashion Rules

Blue on blue, Stripes on stripes, Ruffles on ruffles – even if there’s a fashion rule that says I can’t do this, why listen to that negativity? Seriously, I am loving this combo even if I defied those tips that says I can’t be too matchy-matchy!

Blue, stripes and ruffles have been the hype since Spring. Who wouldn’t fall in love with this trend?

I love vertical stripes because we all know what they say about that. Vertical stripes make you look taller and skinnier, in case you don’t already know.

And then there’s ruffles…

This frill top and ruffle skirt would have been perfect for a recent event I attended that required 1920’s fashion as the dress code. Ruffle, frills and flappers were the trend that time and just like all the previous trends, it has resurfaced once again. Ruffles were a major hit in the Spring Fashion 2017.

And, how about this purse? I am going to be such a girl and say, I love anything blush because it’s technically pink, just lighter, neutral and more for adults. That sounded like a Mean Girls line. Lol! The point is, blush toned accessories could easily match any outfit. I particularly love this purse from Sole Society because it’s very spacious, sturdy and high quality. This color has now been sold out but still available in Cream Combo which you may find here.

When it comes to jewelry accessorizing, I try to limit it to just earrings or a necklace if I’m wearing a statement outfit. This skirt definitely took the spotlight away but you still need to check out these beautiful circle bar earrings here. These are so classy and sophisticated so pairing them up with any outfit should be easy!
